The 2006 UK Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be staged at London’s Alexandra Palace on Tuesday 14 November, and Mark Radcliffe will be there to bring you all the latest news from backstage at the event (live on Radio 2 at 2200-0000).
The UK Music Hall of Fame honours international music legends for their outstanding contribution to contemporary music. The event began in 2004 and has so far seen 20 of the greatest names in music inducted – The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, Queen, Cliff Richard & The Shadows, The Rolling Stones, U2, Robbie Williams, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne, Jimi Hendrix, Joy Division / New Order, Aretha Franklin, The Who, Eurythmics and The Kinks.

Artists are selected for induction by the UK Music Hall of Fame Steering Group – a panel comprising over 80 respected artists, music journalists, broadcasters and music industry executives.

This year’s inductees include: Bon Jovi, James Brown, Led Zeppelin, Dusty Springfield , Rod Stewart, Brian Wilson and Sir George Martin, who will receive a special honour in recognition of his exceptional contribution to British music. Last year the same award was bestowed upon John Peel.

Radio 2’s Dermot O’Leary hosts the Induction Ceremony which will be broadcast on Channel 4 on Thursday 16 November.

Rod Stewart the Biography will be shown on Sky’s biography Channel on Wednesday 15th November at 10pm.
