SMILER 2014 Calendar On Sale Now!!

One can have a dream baby, two can make the dream so real…The 2014 SMILER Calendar is now ready to order titled ‘It Takes Two’ it features some great shots of Rod and some great shots of Rod with other people,

The inspiration for this years calendar was ‘YOU’ Rod’s brilliant fans who sent Rod back to the top of the album charts in the UK and gave him some amazing nights to remember as Rod played sell out concerts from London to Vegas

The calendar will again be A3 size printed in top quality on 200gsm silk paper with a Gloss laminated 400gsm cover and has been designed again by the SMILER team with special thanks like always to Yve and Andy who take on this project every year,

Once again we have been helped by some of the best photographers around,

Philip Morris is the inimitable Australian rock photographer who is well known to SMILER members as his work has graced our calendars for many years,
Philip started his career behind the lens in Sydney at the age of 15.

Being on the scene and at the concerts, he quickly added to his portfolio with every big name to come to town. His career continued to soar in the 70’s when he was a contributor to all the major music magazines in Australia, including “RAM” and “Juke.” During this time he shot almost every international band touring the country including the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and Paul McCartney.

David Cotter is an award-winning London-based photographer specialising in editorial, corporate, portrait and event photography. Who first took interest in photography almost 20 years ago on his travels, he bought his first SLR camera in Singapore and figured out how to use it mostly through trial and error.

David provides a high standard of creative photography for internal publications of many large organisations including London Underground, British Gas, Post Office,KPMG,Rabobank, Network Rail and John Lewis.

David graduated from University of the Arts in London (LCC) with a distinction in Photography. More recently, I was awarded Best Photographer 2012 at the IoIC Awards for the third year running.

Don Adkins is a Redondo Beach-based photographer with the majority of his work revolving around the world of rock music, both in the studio and on stage for a variety of clients and publications. His work includes images of Rod, Elton John, Iggy Pop, U2, Genesis, David Byrne, Sammy Hagar, Stevie Nicks, Bon Jovi, Peter Gabriel, Jackson Browne, Alanis Morrisette and many others.Don has been a major help with this years calendar contributing many of his fantastic photographs including Rod and Tina Turner to keep the it Takes Two theme going!!

Nick Busco always had the best seat in the house. In 1976, he began working for Tom Fields Associates, a Massachusetts Rock and Roll lighting company, and soon found himself out on the road. Over the years, he worked with Rod, Queen, Tom Petty, Bonnie Raitt, Chicago, and many others, his photographs are one of a kind pieces of history from the glory days of touring, Today Nick has his own boutique production company in Los Angeles. Busco Productions.

We also have photographs by Jonathan Stewart a portrait photographer, working in the Design, Advertising and Editorial sectors. Working out of London, from a Studio based in Richmond upon Thames. and freelance sports photographer David T. Hewitson who was born in East Lothian and who’s honours include 1988, 1991 and 1997 Northern Sports Photographer of the Year, 1992 and 1994 Northern Sports photograph of the Year

And the calendar would not be complete without the work of Jim Pietryga and Yve Paige who’s brilliant photographs have been enjoyed for many years by SMILER members And as usual we will also have a few surprises as well

Also this year we are including a free laminated tour poster featuring the winners of our Rod live photo competition.

And the last two pages at the end of our calendar will also be printed on 400gsm paper and gloss laminated and will feature the some more top stars..’Rod’s fans’

The response was so good to our ‘It Takes Two’ pictures with Rod competition that Yve had to do not one but two montages..so did your picture make it?… One can wish upon a star, two can make a wish come true!
