Hobnobbing with Susan George

Taunton Cricket Ground 18th June 2014 Review by Paul Brenchley

On a glorious summer evening, Rod finally accepted my invitation and played our local cricket ground J.

The sold out crowd (21,000) had a great evening and so did Rod judging from the smiles. It was refreshing to see a crowd react to the showman when they aren’t the big city crowd, they really had a great time.

The set list varied from the previous shows and was:
Infatuation, This Old Heart, Tonight’s the Night, You Wear It Well, Can’t Stop Me Now, Some Guys, Rhythm of my Heart, Having a Party, Forever Young (clothing change), Acoustic set – The First Cut, I Don’t Want To Talk About It, Have I Told You Lately, Brighton Beach – end of Acoustic, Sweet Little Rock ‘n’ Roller, Proud Mary (Band and clothing change), You’re In My Heart, I’d Rather Go Blind, Hot Legs, Maggie, Baby Jane, Sailing and Sexy.

I turned to my left during Hot Legs and found Susan George dancing next to me – still looks fabulous at 64!

Kudos to security who were very restrained allowing people to dance away from the start. I really hope that Rod mixes up the venues when he comes back, Great night.
