We’ve been blessed with a clear night

The University of Bolton Stadium, Bolton 14/6/19 Review By Jeff Speight

It’s Bolton Wanderers stadium on the 14/6, the time is 8.32 pm and just as the rain stopped and the skies cleared our majestic leader emerged onto the stage to the burst of stage fireworks and the welcoming roar of 20,000 adoring fans. As Infatuation echoed around the stadium the crowd knew this was going to be a night of magic as Sir Rods voice was totally on point it was loud, clear and the tone was crisp and true….”We’ve been blessed with a clear night, chilly but dry, that’s the main thing. Enjoy yourselves!” Rod told the crowd

We were away two solid hours of hit after hit after hit, each one performed to a degree that you could of been mistaken to think you had been transferred back in time by a good 15 years. Rods energy levels were amazing and he knew exactly just how good his performance was. and turned the huge venue into an intimate setting

The crowd was also on top form singing every word of all the hits along with their idol, the place rocked… Rod told the local Bolton Wanderers supporters who’s club is going through troubles at the moment “I wish you well and hope you find a good sponsor…I remember watching Nat Lofthouse on the telly as a kid.”

As Sir Rod soulfully brought the evening to a close with a beautiful version of Baby Jane the sky lit up with a mass of colour and explosions from the fireworks above the stadium. He was gone and I thought to myself well Jeff you’ve just witnessed something special……..
