There is a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. At least more and more music gigs and shows seem to be possible to happen in the USA at this time. “Oh yes slowly, very slowly it’s getting a little bit better”, Katja Rieckermann told SMILER on the phone. “It was a tough and not a really funny time. But I’m confident that we can get back to normal step by step”.
The former Rod Stewart lead saxophonist flew to Fredericksburg/Texas on Friday morning to perform with Rod Stewart Tribute Act Rob Caudill at The Rockbox.
Katja said: “It makes such a lot of fun to play all these songs again that are more than well known to me”.

For Katja Rieckermann, the show in Texas should be something like the beginning of a new era. As the pandemic subsides, Katja would like to be much more present on the stages of the music circus in the future. Initially in the USA, but she has by no means given up on her dream of touring Europe with her own band. As a first step, she has now agreed to work with the booking agency beTONt Booking & Management in Germany. The goal is to play concerts in Europe in the coming year at the latest. “I don’t think we can play concerts in Europe this year, but I want to prepare everything for 2022. And the cooperation with beTONt helps a lot. Of course Im focused to play in my homeland Germany first but gigs in other countries are also being planned. Such as The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Denmark or the UK”.
