Live music is officially back for Rod

The Nugget Event Center, Sparks, NV, October 2nd 2021 Review By Donna Stackhouse

I was lucky enough to purchase front row for this event !! Finally, after an 18 month hiatus from live concerts ROD was back. He said in his opening comments that it was the first time in 60 years that he was nervous. He said he might have a few Fu*# ups . Then he said “Here we go”…

I might have been as nervous as he said he was. He said that he had a sinus infection and would do his best. I was just thankful that we could attend concerts again. He did mention that he was f*#@ing over with the COVID situation. I think we would all agree.

Rod sings to the SMILER’s

As the die-hard Rod Stewart fan and SMILER member I stood there proudly waving my Smiler magazine covers to catch his attention. Many people in the states do not know about Smiler. You may get a few more members after me informing them about the Fan Club. 🙂

Now for the important part. Rod Stewart has the best voice in the whole world. He is the best overall entertainer to watch. He really gives his all when he is on that stage. I think he gets more out of it than we do. That says a lot about his pure passion. He sounded the best when he sat down and sang, I Would Rather Go Blind. The gravely trademark voice is still there. (Thank God)

It is always good to see and hear the audience take over on songs like Forever Young and Maggie, which this crowd gladly did. When he started the Rhythm of My Heart intro, you can’t help but march along and appreciate all of our men who have served and continue to serve our countries.

For over 50 years since I was just a teen Rod has never disappointed me. Never stop singing Rod you just keep going and I will keep going too. I can’t wait for his next album in November and I am contemplating purchasing tickets to Vegas to see him again this month. Although there isn’t any front row seats available.

Here is the set list for the night in Reno…
Infatuation
Some Guys have all the luck
It takes two (duet)
Twistin’ the night away
Tonight’s the Night
Forever Young
Rhythm of my heart
Maggie (with a real sloooooow start)
Sweet little Rock & Roller
Rather Go Blind
Downtown train
First Cut is the deepest
Ooh LA LA
In my Heart
Have I told you lately
