Another Friday night party
This week we start in Aberdeen at P&J Live, The vocal guys from the Inverness fan club were in attendance

Rod had this week had his own bad news regarding the passing of his brother Bob and then it was announced that Christine McVie had died so tonight Rod dedicated ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’ to the Fleetwood Mac musician, Christine recorded a version of the Etta James song in 1969 with her band Chicken Shack and Soon after Chicken Shack’s single release Christine left the band, and in the autumn of 1969 she was persuaded by Mike Vernon to record tracks for a solo album, in which she performed a different version of ‘I’d Rather Go Blind’. Later that year she won the Melody Maker Award for best female vocalist for her record with Chicken Shack. She was also awarded the title of having one of the top ten pairs of legs in all of Britain!. A year later she won the award again for her solo album. A few months later she joined Fleetwood Mac the rest is history …RIP Christine.

Michaela Hombrecher travelled from Germany for the scottish shows and took these great shots in Aberdeen

Back to The Hydro
It was back to The Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday night ..

And Glasgow singer songwriter Kevin McGuire joined Johnny Mac & The Faithful on stage.
You all loved Beatriz Melossi’s brilliant photo last week and Beatriz has shared a couple from The Hydro from this week

M&S Bank Arena Liverpool
Rod and the band were in Liverpool on Tuesday and John Rafferty was up front to get these superb shots

SMILER photographer Yve Paige was also on hand to get some great photos and said ‘The best bits about a Rod concert is who you share it with. Rod 3 was such a nice overnight stay in Liverpool with my muckers, I adored The Caven and was so pleased we made the effort to go. Its a living place with the spirits of those past walking in it. We ate and went to see Rod. He was on top form and sounded so amazing and seemed to enjoy the night. The crowd were great and we sang our hearts out.’

This Weeks Rod Art
No one sent anything in this week so I will give you one of my pastel portraits..with a wee bit of a scottish theme..

And Finally…
Hope everyone is enjoying The World Cup ..Who will Rod be supporting tomorrow England or France ?😂😂 ..Richard Winton at BBC Sport Scotland remembering the 1986 World Cup this week told the story of Rod’s pre cup meet up with some of the Scotland squad.

The squad travelled to Santa Fe in New Mexico for an altitude training camp. Players tell conflicting tales about meeting with Rod …
Craig Brown says manager Alex Ferguson gave the players the night off on the condition they didn’t go to a party at Rod’s, Winger Eamonn Bannon reckons a select group were permitted to show face and were a little worse for wear the next day. But Goalkeeper Alan Rough has a more vivid recollection.
“It was fantastic,” he says. “We never made Rod’s house, though. We met him at some restaurant and he started making us mudslingers. Within an hour, we were all half cut and he disappeared. Then a stretch limo turned up to take us home. There was a phone in it and I’ll never forget wee Charlie Nicholas hanging out of the sunroof calling his maw in Milton while we were driving down Sunset Boulevard.”
And to cut a long story short the Mexico 1986 campaign unfortunately ended..

Don’t forget anyone at Utilita Arena Birmingham tonight or tomorrow, First Direct Arena on Tuesday or AO Arena Manchester on Wenesday have a great time and please send in any photos or thoughts on the shows.

See you next week.
