Rod helped to do the sex reveal in a video, announcing “It’s a boy” while excitedly punching the air then shouting, “Born a Celtic” and sang “another winkle in the Stewart family.”

Rolling Stone 200 Singers Of All Time Poll

In a poll to finf the 200 greatest singers of all time Rod came in at number 49, the poll by prestigious American music outlet Rolling Stone placed Rod in the top 50 higher than Mick Jagger, Elton John and Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant.

As reported last week BBC Two will be showing Rod Stewart at The BBC 2 Tomorrow at 8pm BBC Two as part of a Rod night that includes re showings of Reel Stories -Rod talks to Dermot O’Leary about his life. From Abbey Road to the Royal Albert Hall and Motown to Maggie May, Dermot takes Rod back to his childhood cinema to relive moments from a career spanning six decades at 9pm, Rod Stewart Live at Hyde Park – A concert by the singer that closed Radio 2’s annual Festival in a Day, held in September 2015 in London’s Hyde Park. Featuring a selection of hits from his back catalogue including Angel, In a Broken Dream, The Killing of Georgie (Part I and II) as well as Faces classics including Ooh La La and blues standard Rollin’ and Tumblin’ at 9.30 Imagine Rod Stewart Can’t Stop Me Now -gets a re run at 10.35. Rod Stewart at the BBC – A tribute to the singer’s career with a selection of his performances and interviews at the BBC. Songs include Sailing, You’re in My Heart, I Don’t Want to Talk About It and Da Ya Think I’m Sexy? Then on Rod’s birthday Tuesday 10th January MTV has a half hour long show Happy Birthday Rod Stewart! from 8:30am-9:00am and repeated at 11pm on MTV XMAS
And on Monday 16th January Ayozat TV [Sky 192] is showing The Story of Rod Stewart a 1 hour 30 minutes documentary.
This week’s Rod Art
The first Rod art of 2023 is an 80’s Rod by artist Craig Cab Newton from Whitehaven in Cumbria.

Craig told SMILER this week ‘I do drawings in pen and ink. I did this one of Rod because he’s a legend, I do lots of pictures of music artists that I enjoy listening to’.

Bob’s Funeral
Rod ended the week back in the UK attending the funeral of his brother Bob, Rod posted this picture and said ‘I said Farewell to my Brother Bob today, with his coffin draped in a Rangers flag (life long Glasgow Rangers fan).

‘We loved our game days up in Scotland together. Now he joins Brother Don, rest in peace boys. Two of my best mates gone within just a few months’.
