On Thursday, April 27 everyone is being encouraged to Dress Like a Popstar to help raise money for disadvantaged children across the UK, and Rod is doing his bit to help.
Clyde One DJ George Bowie has re mixed a party dance anthem version the Johnny Mac & The Faithful featuring Rod Stewart track ‘My Oh My’ for this year’s official Cash for Kids single

George told Glasgow Live “John McLaughlin has been working extensively with him [Rod] over the last few years, touring with him and writing tracks for him, so I knew we had a connection there as me and John go way back, and have been good pals for a long long time.
“Thankfully, John helped get him on board and we did the remix, before sending him the track. Rod then said it reminded him of Cotton Eye Joe. He gave us the thumbs up and we thought ‘Let’s do this for Cash for Kids’ as it felt like the right thing to do.”
“It’s Hoedown House, and Rod’s voice was perfect for it. It’s raising money for Cash for Kids so everyone should go out and download it, and if you like it put it in your playlist, and if you don’t like it, then download it twice and do your bit for charity!”
George added that he hopes everyone will come and support them, and help to put Rod right back in the chart where he belongs, adding: “It’s Popstar Day on Thursday and we are encouraging people to dress like their favourite pop star so if you want to put on your Rod Stewart mullet wig and dance about to this wee Hoedown anthem then go for it.
“Hopefully it’ll raise a lot of cash because we know that people are struggling more than ever. Families in Glasgow and the west need help and we are trying to raise funds for them and do that with a smile on our faces and a big party anthem.
