Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada gave Celtic a comfortable lead and, after Dan Mackay pulled a goal back against the run of play, Jota struck in stoppage time to spark the celebrations and seal an historic treble.

This weeks Rod Art

This week we feature a great pencil drawing by Terri Lynn from Arkansas in the US who told SMILER this week “Rod has been my all time favorite artist since I was a teen. I’m 51 now and he still is #1 in my book. This was my very first drawing of him and I plan on more. I wish I could get him to see it”

House For Sale

Rod’s massive Los Angeles Château came on the market this week for $70 Million

Rod’s house is in Beverly Hills, CA. He lives part-time in the house, which he bought in 1991 for $12 million, according the public records. The property features eight bedrooms, 13 bathrooms and is 18,794 square feet. Rod had the property designed for him by famous California architect Richard Landry.

Also a former home of Rod’s the Wave House listed for $49.5M in Malibu, The cresting casa, widely believed to have been an inspiration for the Sydney Opera House was most recently owned by record executive Mo Ostin who passed away last year, aged 95, and his estate is now selling off his home of 36 years.

Under Rod’s ownership, the Wave House saw railings installed along the decks — “He was very concerned that people at his parties would stumble and fall off the edge,” co-listing representative Gesner, who grew up next door in a building known as the Sandcastle, told The Wall Street Journal

During his time as the “Forever Young” singer’s neighbor, Zen Gesner recalls periodically seeing Stewart dancing on his deck and once encountering the entire Scottish national team playing soccer on the beach, Stewart having invited them over for a game.

Photo BBC Breakfast

In the pre-recorded interview, presenter Charlie Stayt said: “Rock stars are performing into incredible ages now.”

Rod answered : “I am actually stopping. I’m not retiring, but I want to move on to… I had great success with The Great American Songbook and I’ve just done a swing album with Jools Holland, which is going to come out next year, so I want to go in that direction.

“So I just want to leave all the rock ‘n’ roll stuff behind, for a while maybe… Everything has to come to an end sooner or later.”

adding : “I’m really looking forward to doing something else, especially singing with Jools’ band. It borders on rock ‘n’ roll anyway, it’s just not Maggie May and Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?”

And finally

Artist Tim Jeffs has sent the last of the Rod SMILER logo statues out now, this has been a really great project to be involved in, Rod was sent his statue early this week, he said it was great and Penny also mentioned how great it was.

“16 of 25..Thank you Tim Jeffs..Great job..Love it” – Iris L Alexander

“I’ts Great!” – Sir Rod Stewart

And it seems a popular choice to my question from last week..If and when we work with artist Tim Jeffs’s again would you prefer a Faces Rodney or a bang up to date Sir Rod? was a Faces Rodney, So watch this space.
