I know I said no news and gossip this week..but here is a quick round up from this week with some fantastic photos..
Joanne and Holly’s big night
Rod, Penny and son Alastair ended the week at a glitzy event in honour of the House of Toby hotel in London on Friday where Joanne and Holly from Rod’s band were headlining the night.
Also attending the event at the 1901 Ballroom at the Andaz London was Roland Macher who flew in from America to see the show and also had a chat with Rod
Singer/Songwriter Nathan James also met Rod and said “So cool to meet this legend last night, What a lovely man he was to talk to also!”
During the night Rod said “I think a lot of us were in tears tonight. It was so amazing that’s all I can say”

Sing It Again Rod Update
The first batch of Sing it Again Rod figures have started arriving..and look fantastic
Artist Tim Jeffs is busy working on the second batch of 10 and they will be sent out soon, everyone in the second batch has been contacted and asked to pay the balance ..not long to wait now!

Rod v Russell Brand
You will have seen Russell Brand all over the news this week ..back in in 2006 the comedian got a well deserved bollocling from Rod
Both Rod and Brand were at the 2006 GQ Man of the Year Awards with Brand receiving an award for fashion when he dedicated his award to Rod, saying: “Here’s to Rod Stewart who had a go at me earlier this year for too much womanising. But then again I did have a go on his daughter.”
Later on at the event Rod was receiving the outstanding musical achievement award, and didn’t let Brand’s earlier comments slide. Addressing Brand directly, he said: “You went with my daughter, did you? Russell, stand up”,
Brand then mumbled: “I took her out for one evening” and Rod replied: “Did you behave yourself?”
Brand then back tracked on his original comment, stating: “I never touched that girl”.
Rod ended the bollocking by saying “Fuckiing right you didn’t. You musn’t come up here and boast. I speak here as a father.”
Rod later told The Evening Standard: “He might be a bit of a player but he shouldn’t boast. I never did. […] Russell’s been a bit timid since I had my say.”
This Week’s Rod Art
This week we feature a modern Rod by self tought artist Alan George Merrick from Warwickshire who painted this great portrait
Talking to SMILER this week Alan said “The lady that runs the bar in our local is a big Rod Stewart fan, I was talking about Rod, she has his calendar at the bar and was showing me this together seeing his latest autobiography, I had a couple of images in mind . I used acrylic medium on the latest but I use all different mediums.”
