Is it Rangers?
This week started with Rod jokingly asking fans what football team he supported after showing them inside a Celtic-themed room in his plush mansion.

Rod shared a photo to his 1.4 million Instagram followers showcasing the gym in his Essex home with the walls covered with around 30 scarves and over 20 framed photos and signed shirts, and a huge Celtic crest on the wall above the door, He captioned the picture: “Guess what football team I support.”
Rod to āpleasure and titillateā Glastonbury 2025
On Tuesday came the massive announcement that Rod will be playing the prestigious Sunday afternoon ālegendsā slot at next years Glastonbury Festival Rod said āIām absolutely thrilled to announce that Iāll be playing Glastonbury Festivals 2025 ! After all these years, Iām proud and ready and more than able to take the stage again to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June. Iāll see you thereā

The ālegendsā slot is now an integral part of the Glastonbury weekend. It first came about in 1992 when Michael Eavis booked Tom Jones on the Pyramid Stage. At the time many raised their eyebrows at a ācounter-culturalā festival booking such a mainstream act.
The idea was initially a bridge-building exercise with the local Pilton community ā traditionally they were let in for free on the Sunday and Eavis calculated that if they saw an act they loved, they would be less likely to kick up a stink when the festival came to apply for its licence before Mendip council the following year.
Jones was so rapturously received that booking a beloved, āmatureā performer soon became a Glastonbury tradition. Johnny Cash followed in 1994 and a succession of music icons have since beaten a trail to Worthy Farm: Tony Bennett, Shirley Bassey, Lionel Richie, Barry Gibb, Diana Ross and Shania Twain to name but a handful.
Rod previously headlined the festival in 2002 alongside Coldplay and Stereophonics, but this will mark his first appearance in the prestigious teatime slot.
Glastonbury festival organiser Emily Eavis announced Rod’s booking on Instagram, stating: “Bringing Sir Rod Stewart back for the Sunday afternoon slot on the Pyramid stage is everything we could wish for.
“What a way to bow out with the final legends slot before we take a fallow year.“

Penny also showed her support on Instagram soon after the announcement to repost Stewart’s post onto her own profile.
Talking to Alan Brazil on talkSPORT Breakfast Show Rod said it would cost him around Ā£250,000 to play the big event as he would have tp fly all the band in from America, but he didn’t care ifit cost a million pounds
When Brazil asked if he had to take a long time to consider the offer from Glastonbury, Rod said he knew āimmediatelyā that he was going to accept the opportunity to perform at Worthy Farm. adding, āItās a great honour.ā
āItās going to cost me a fortune to do it ā Ā£250,000. Iāve got to bring all my band back from America, of course Glastonbury donāt pay for that. But I donāt care if it cost me a million, I would have done it. This is a great honour. It really is the greatest honour.ā

Champions League
Wednesday was Champions league night and Celtic were hoping to take a massive step towards the Champions League knockout rounds with another win in Europe’s elite competition when Club Brugge arrive at Celtic Park Celtic are on seven points and the win over RB Leipzig has got the Celtic fans believing of a deep run in the competition before the Belgian side arrived in Glasgow’s east end.

McCoist took the bait responding: “Just you get on to your Champions League game and we will leave Rangers out of it for this moment in time. In all seriousness, I did say that performance against Leipzig at home was as good as I have seen in a long, long time.”
Rod replied “Absolutely. Unlike when we beat Barcelona and Manchester United we were sort of hanging on. Against Leipzig we dominated all the way through – usually we are hanging on – a whole new way of playing for us. Let’s hope we can do it again tonight.”
Later on Rod summed up “Let’s be honest we are never going to win it, but it’s all about the money and the prestige that goes with it. Of course with money we spend our money wisely, as apposed to the other team in Glasgow⦔
McCoist: interupted “Just calm down. Don’t get carried away now. You’ve had a couple of good results, don’t get carried away.”
Laughing Rod added: ‘If the shoe was on the other foot you would be rubbing it in.”
