R.I.P. Denis Law
The week got off to a very sad start when it was announced on Friday night that Rod’s hero Denis Law had died
Sir Rod lead the tributes to Manchester United legend Denis Law after the club announced his passing .
Law, who scored 30 goals in 55 international appearances for Scotland, is one of United’s greatest-ever players having netted 237 times in 404 games for the club.
He became the only Scottish player to date to have won the Ballon d’Or, lifting football’s greatest individual honour back in 1964 – and won four major honours with the Red Devils, including a European Cup in 1967-68.
Law was part of United’s famed ‘Holy Trinity’ alongside, George Best and England World Cup winner Sir Bobby Charlton, who passed away in 2005 and 2023 respectively.
Law, who was 84 at the time of his passing, had been battling Alzheimer’s and dementia, having been diagnosed with both illnesses back in 2021.
Back in 1974 Rod and Denis recorded a duet of Rod’s hit Angel for the Official Scotland World Cup album and despite sounding very much like the Faces none of the band apart from Rod were involved.

Rod, Penny and Aiden continued to mark Rod’s milestone 80th birthday with a surprise dinner organised by Penny at Mount Street Restaurant in Mayfair on Saturday evening .
They were joined by friends including Ronnie Wood and his wife Sally
And Jools Holland

Be Careful out there
We all know that there are hundreds of scams out there using Rod’s name pretending to be him, his band, his management we and other Rod sites are always warning fans about them and try our hardest to get them stopped
But this week The Telegraph reported the story of ex-soldier Wayne Westhead who was conned out of his life savings by a scammer who used Sir Rod’s face to advertise a fraudulent investment scheme. Wayne a former British Army Major with 30 years of military service, invested £200,000 into the fraudulent Bitcoin scheme while his wife was battling breast cancer.
Following her diagnosis, Mr Westhead stepped down from his job in order to care for her, and looked for ways to boost his Army pension in order to support the pair of them, he told the Telegraph .
He then spotted an ad on Facebook advertising a Bitcoin investment scheme promising high returns with little to no risk attached, which appeared to be endorsed by Sir Rod

Rod to play Bulgaria for first time ever
Rod will play Bulgaria for the first time at the invitation of Fest Team at Arena 8888 Sofia. He will perform his greatest hits and will share his musical story with the Bulgarian audience,” the organizers commented.
Rod announced the date this week along with a date in Greece
“I’m thrilled to announce I’ll be adding two more shows to my One Last Time Tour this December!
“On December 11th, I’ll be performing in Sofia, Bulgaria, and on December 13th, I’ll be heading to Athens, Greece! Hope to see you there!”
Rod also announced another double header show with Billy Joel at Paycor Stadium Cincinnati, OH on Saturday, September 20 2025.

Champions League
On Wednesday Rod and the boys watched Celtic beat Young Boys 1-0 to secure Champions League progression
They watched as Kyogo had three first-half goals ruled and Arne Engels missed a penalty then finally Loris Benito turned the ball into his own net before Celtic’s Daizen Maeda’s got a late red card that will put him out of the match against Aston Villa
The result puts them in 18th place, level on 12 points with Juventus, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Anyone else notice actor Dougray Scott was stood next to Rod?
