Sailing
We are Sailing

Culinary queen Mary Berry chose Rod’s âSailingâ as her favourite song of all time during her 2012 participation in the long-running BBC Radio Four programme Desert Island Discs – in which guests pick eight songs they would take with them if they ended up stranded in a desert island

âIt was something that the boys when they were back from school they would have it on full blast upstairsâ, said Mary about her choice.
She went on to reference her son, who passed away after a car crash in 1989: âAnd when [my son] Will’s funeral came, not only did we have onwards Christian soldiers but we finished with âSailingâ to remember himâ.

Rod Stewart Second Memoir
Rod will have a second Memoir published in November by Grand Central Publishing

A joyful celebration of the life and career of music legend Rod Stewart, told as a journey through his ever-expanding model railway.
Sir Rod Stewartâs love for trains began while growing up next to the train tracks in North London and has remained a constant since his early years. For 30 years, the multi-platinum, award-winning artist has spent hours every day -whether at home or on tour â building and painting tiny trains, buildings, and more from scratch and placing them in an incredibly impressive, ever-expanding model railway.
Rod started the tiny mid-twentieth century American city in the early 1990s as an artistic outlet, and the now 1,674 square foot model has grown to have a hugely significant role in his life. Inside every building heâs made is written the year in which it was built, where he was in the world when he built it, and how the Celtics were doing. Essentially, it has become a diary and map to his life. There are buildings names after his children, his family members, friends and band members, and all the interests and loves of his life.
Now in his new memoir, Rod will take readers on an immersive journey through his life, his career, and of course, through the intricate Grand Street & Three Rivers Railroad.
Current publishing date 11 November 2025
