NOW OPEN: The members only section.

HOW TO LOG-IN:

A step by step guide on how to access the members only part. First you have to obtain your personal password:

1. On the main site you will notice a red field titled “FIRST STEP” on the upper left. Click the link to get to the account activation site.

2. To obtain your password you need to fill in all fields. It is very important that you write the values EXACTLY the same way as they appear on the address label of your personal Smiler copy Eg: If your first name is shortened (P. instead of Peter) you have to enter the shortened version as well!

– Your membership number consists of two letters and four numbers. Eg: AB1234. It is printed on the address label, together with the expiry issue of your membership. Do NOT include the expiry issue which is listed after your membership number. Eg: /77.
Members residing outside the UK or the US/Canada have been assigned new membershib numbers starting with RW!

– It is mandatory to fill in a valid e-mail address: your password will be mailed to this address.

– UK members check your postal code: it is possible that there are two spaces between the letters. Also watch out for dots at the end of any line.

3. Once you have filled all fields correctly, hit the “go” button. A randomly generated password will be mailed to the entered e-mail address. After clicking the link inside the confirmation e-mail (you have to click the link to activate your membership) you are ready to log-in with your membership number and your new password!

Please note that no one except for you has access to your password. Therefore we recommend changing it to something more memorable. After your first log-in, go to “my profile” to change your password.

Should you forget your password, it is possible to obtain a new password by entering your registered e-mail address on the log-in site.

EXCLUSIVE MEMBERS BENEFITS:

After logging in, you will have access to several special sites, not available to the general public. These include:

* GENERAL NEWS – This is available for all visitors, but check the members news section for additional items, early warning of concerts and album releases and the occasional amusing “gossip” stories.

* THE SMILER ARCHIVE – Main Smiler articles from issue 68 onwards are archived on the website and eventually there will be full access to all Smiler interviews and major articles going right back to the first ever issue. You may browse articles in full and also read previews from the new magazine before the post-man delivers it to your house! On-line articles feature a different selection of photographs to those used in the magazine and may include links and other useful information. Should you like one issue of Smiler magazine in particular, you may order it over the website.

* PHOTO ARCHIVE – The new photo archive is open for members only. Do you want to share your photographs with other members? Feel free to upload your best shots! It is also possible to send Rod e-cards from within the photo archive.

* CRUEL BUT FAIR MESSAGE BOARD – We have decided to move the message board into the members section. Over the last few months the board several posts have personally attacked Rod and his management. Although some of them may have been reasonable, a board slagging off it’s subject and the people behind it is not something expected from a fan-site. From now on reading and posting messages is restricted to members only. Of course constructive criticism of a non-personal manner is still very welcome.

* BOOTLEG LISTING – Members have access to the bootleg section of the discography.

In addition to the above features, we have also added several new services to help you make the most of your membership:

– Your address profile is accessible on-line – in case you have to amend your address details. Any changes you make have an immediate effect and the next edition of the printed magazine will be shipped to the stored address!

– It is also possible to renew your subscription over the website and pay with your credit card. The payment will be securely processed by paypal.com, the world’s leading internet payment processor. On-line renewals are the easiest and quickest way to renew your subscription!
