The album features the fantastic duet with Rod ‘Battle Of The Sexes’
Battle Of The Sexes is written by ex Smokie lead singer Chris Norman who told SMILER “I wrote the song with my friend and band guitarist, Geoff Carline. I did a demo of it and played it to Bonnie and she asked me if it was ok to send it to Rod with the idea of them doing a duet. Rod liked it and so they recorded it and I believe it may be released as a single in the near future”.
Talking of the duet Bonnie told SMILER “I got friendly with one of Rod’s friends Ricky when I was with my husband in Barbados last January. I told him I would love to do a duet with Rod and Ricky said: “well send me an email and I will pass it on to Rod” and that’s how Rod and I got in touch with each other. I didn’t do it straight away as I was waiting for the right song to come along and in March I got this fantastic song sent to me and I thought this would be perfect for us. So I sent it to Rod via Ricky and Rod got back to me and said yeah I would love to do it. He said he wouldn’t normally do it but he liked it…it’s a really fabulous song. I am so chuffed and excited about it”.
