Cody McCarver’s ‘Tonight’s The Night’ Makes Music Row’s Top 20

(Top40 Charts/ PLC Records) – Country music rebel Cody McCarver moved into Music Row magazine’s Top 20 chart last week and is spending his second week at No. 18 with “Tonight’s The Night.” The song, a remake of the Rod’s hit
“Real” is the word McCarver says best self-describes him and his music. It’s something he has in common with Rod and one of the reasons he chose to record “Tonight’s The Night.” “I’ve always loved Rod Stewart’s music and ‘Tonight’s The Night’ in particular, but the more important reason I picked the song to record is because it was a favorite of my father’s growing up. My dad has made a lot of good calls in his lifetime. Also, it’s odd, but my record producer’s wife wrote a suggestion on a piece of paper and put it on his desk. The note said, ‘Cody should record ‘Tonight’s The Night.’ I didn’t know this until after we had recorded it. All of the elements and all of the reasons just came together on this one.”
