Shades and Peters are a Danish duo consisting of René Shades and Martie Peters, They are currently recording their debut album to be released later in 2011, and the album features a host of special guests that will certainly be of interest to SMILER members.
SMILER spoke to Martie who explained all.
I have been a huge Rod Stewart fan for most of my life so when I contacted Jim Cregan and asked him if he would play on my album I was over the moon when he agreed. My solo project became a duo when I hooked up with my long time friend René Shades and “Shades & Peters” was born.
The music we play is classic rock but we are also inspired by the modern country scene.
We have many great players on the album, Jim Cregan on guitar, Kevin Savigar on keyboards and accordion, Jimmy Zavala on sax and harmonica, Tony Brock, Paul Robinson (Rod and Trevor Horn) and Mickey Curry (Bryan Adams) on drums, Paul Bushnell (The Commitments) on bass just to name a few.
We have a “teaser” EP coming out next month followed by a European tour later this year which will feature Jimmy Z in the band. The full album should be out late in 2011 so watch out for that!
