It has come to the attention of Rod Stewart that totally without his knowledge or authorization tickets have been advertised and sold for a number of concerts at which it was claimed he would appear. Over a month ago, Mr. Stewart notified local promoters that these ticket sales were to be stopped immediately and ticket buyers returned their money. Mr. Stewart has been looking forward to coming back to South and Latin America where he has successfully toured in the past, including headlining with Queen the first “Rock In Rio” Festival in 1985 and later appearing before 2.4 million people on Rio’s Copacabana Beach, to this day the largest audience in concert history.
Unfortunately the United States promoter who had proposed the 2002 Rod Stewart tour of South and Latin America failed to fulfill the conditions for that tour. Mr. Stewart is deeply concerned for his fans and will encourage local authorities promptly to make ticket refunds. Mr. Stewart looks forward to returning to South and Latin America under happier circumstances.
