Rita Belcher stands down

Following two years in which she produced eight issues of Smiler magazine, Rita Belcher has decided to give up her post as Editor.

Rita took over the editorial duties from John Gray in September 2002. Although she enjoyed the challenge during her two years, she has found recently that the pressure of producing four magazines a year together with the secretarial duties very tiring and time consuming.

Rita told rodstewartfanclub.com “I have enjoyed editing Smiler and was really pleased I was able to keep the magazine going at an uncertain time. I would like to pass on my thanks to all the readers who have supported me over the past two years.”

Rita will, however, continue in her post as US Secretary and looks forward to many more years of smiling!. “I would like to assure everyone that I remain a huge Rod Stewart fan and that I have no intention of resigning my secretarial post.”

Rita’s departure has left the door open for the return of Smiler founder and original Editor John Gray who jumped at the chance to take up his old job.

“I’ve really missed Smiler and have loads of ideas for the future. Over the past two years I have received hundreds of letters from readers asking for me to return and I now feel the time is right. I can’t wait to get started with issue 81!”

Rod Stewart is said to be happy with these changes
