ROD Stewart rocked his hits at a packed Home Park on Thursday night, ending a memorable day at Plymouth Argyle with an equally memorable gig – his only UK concert this year.
From opening number ‘Some Guy’s Have All The Luck’ to finale encore ‘Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?’ Rod took an enthralled crowd through 26 of the songs that have made him famous.
The highlights were many, but when he – appropriately enough for the venue – demonstrated his football skills by kicking or throwing 48 signed footballs into the audience, the place was really rocking.
Rod Played homage to his hosts when he showed goals from Argyle players Craig Noone and Rory Fallon on the giant screen behind the stage.
The show-stopper, though, was a 100% singalong version of perhaps his greatest hit, ‘Maggie May’, with the crowd’s rendition of the song clearly moving Rod.
