SMILER Tour information

We are sorry to inform you that we have so far been unsuccessful in our efforts to gain early entry for Smiler readers at Rod’s GLASGOW concerts.

We are sorry to inform you that we have so far been unsuccessful in our efforts to gain early entry for Smiler readers at Rod’s GLASGOW concerts.

Clear Channel Entertainment – the promoters of this tour – have not been as helpful as Marshall Arts, the promoters of Rod’s previous tours. The reason Clear Channel have given for denying Smiler readers the chance to enter the arena early is detailed in the following extract from a communication they sent to Smiler:

“The venue in Glasgow have explained that when they allowed fan club members entrance to the arena prior to the rest of the audience on a previous occasion, they received numerous and vociferous complaints from other patrons, some of whom had been queuing all day. Therefore, they would prefer not to allow fan club members early access.”

We apologise for any disappointment. We are still trying to arrange something directly with Rod’s tour manager. For up-to-the minute information in respect of this, we suggest you check the “News” section at www.rodstewartfanclub.com prior to attending the concert. Please be assured that we are doing all within our power to gain you early entry and if we can arrange something we will.

Meanwhile, a meeting place has been arranged. From 5pm, Smiler readers will be in the bar at The Moat House Hotel adjoining the SECC complex. A club representative will be on hand to accompany you into the venue should we be able to arrange early entry into the arena. Alternatively, you may prefer to queue in the normal way as we cannot guarantee to get you in early.

Either way – we hope you enjoy the show!
