The Faces are burning up the DVD charts! It’s true! Take a look at this week’s UK charts and you will find a huge helping of vintage Rod Stewart & The Faces!
In the album charts Rod’s “greatest hits” double compilation ‘The Story So Far’ stands at No. 25 (with 47 weeks on the charts). The album re-entered the charts three weeks ago following the pre-Christmas tour and has now been at No. 25 for two weeks in a row. Meanwhile, following a brief re-entry for the fourth Songbook album at No. 73 it has again left the charts after a total tally of only 9 weeks.
The story of the week, however, is the continuing rise of the 1988 video release ‘Rod Stewart & The Faces: The Video Biography’. This has risen four places on this weeks official DVD charts to No. 14. The eighteen year old compilation has been a strong seller since its re-issue on DVD over two years ago and continues to sell in significant numbers, easily leaving Rod’s recent official DVDs in the shade.
Proof, perhaps, that music fans prefer Rod’s old stuff.
