Paul Reprintsev is an amazing artist from Kharkov, Ukraine, SMILER members will know Paul has painted many superb portraits of Rod over the years in fact some of you have won signed [By both Paul and Rod] prints of his work at past TARTAN events, and Rod has also signed prints in the past for Paul personally.
We couldn’t wait until Friday to show you this latest 35x45cm, ink and watercolor pencils masterpiece from Paul [main picture] . So we are posting this today.
Speaking to SMILER today Paul said “Now I’m in Lviv, because in my hometown Kharkiv there is a war against Russia and for almost a month I didn’t draw anything, now I’m listening Rods new album and his other his songs like Tonight’s The Night…that explains the text I wrote on the black background…his songs help me get through this terrible time in my country… I draw Rod in a hat apparently waiting for summer”
Paul added “I completed this latest work in about 5 hours….sketching first and then drawing with pencils and ink for background”.
