According to the Jerry Lee Lewis camp the release date of the album featuring a new version of What Made Milwaukee Famous [Has made a loser out of me] has been put back yet again .
“The Killer” is following in the footsteps of country legends Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn by releasing an album that could re-establish this aging legend as a relevant artist.
Like Cash and Lynn did with their respective “American Recordings” and “Van Lear Rose” records, Lewis has recorded an album that twists his signature sound with the vitality of contemporary music. Dubbed, “The Pilgrim,” the music features Lewis’ familiar and fiery boogie-woogie sound paired with various musicians.
With a list of accomplices that ranges from Eric Clapton to Neil Young, the record is a potential music historian’s dream.
“There’s so many talented people on this album, just so much good music. I’m really proud of it,” Lewis says
Initially, “The Pilgrim” was slated for a February release. That was moved back to March. Now, Lewis’ camp is saying it will be released sometime in the year’s second quarter, April to June.”The date just keeps changing,” Lewis says.
