Tam pays the tab

Last week we told you about Rod and Tams night out in Glasgow
In his weekend column in The Daily Record Tam told how he paid the bill
Well, thatâs the last time I buy dinner for Rod Stewart. As you may have seen I recently took him out to a swanky restaurant and, frankly, I donât think Iâll ever see a bigger bill unless Barry Manilow has a lovechild with a pelican.
âHas Sir decided?â asked the waiter as I perused the menu. âWell,â I said, âIâm swithering between the fillet steak⌠and paying my mortgage.â Posh? Listen, I once had a one-night stand with a lady from Bearsden (when I woke up the next morning I had lobstersâŚ) but even she wasnât as classy as this joint.
However, in the grand scheme of things, it was money well spent. You see, folks, fresh from wining and dining the Maggie May singer, I managed to set up a cash bet between Celtic-daft Rod and former Rangers boss Graeme Souness (his old pal) on the outcome of this yearâs Scottish Premiership.
Rich Rod

According to MediaCoverage, Rod’s net worth is estimated to range between $680 million and $730 million as of 2024…Can you lend me a tenner until the weather breaks Rod?
This Morning

Rod and Jools Holland were among the first celebrity guests to join Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley on ITV‘s This Morning as they officially took over the reins from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.
After Ben said it was a âreal treatâ to have them both on, Rod replied: âGood luck to you too, you were great, youâre the best⌠Round of applause for them⌠they love you.â
Jools then added added that he hopes the new roles go âreally wellâ for them, jokingly adding: âWe havenât cancelled you yet.â
Ben replied: âNot yet⌠weâve still got 15 minutes to go.â

Rod signs Sawbridgeworth parking petition
On Wednesday on a trip into Sawbridgeworth town centre Rod was approached by staff from The House of Harlequin boutique to sign a petition against plans by Hertfordshire County Council for double yellow lines throughout the town centre.

The county has launched a consultation over the plans which would include toughened restrictions in the main Bell Street shopping area and some shopkeepers say it could be disastrous for trade, Rod also met town councillor and former mayor Greg Rattey who is against the proposals and who thanked Rod for signing.
