Rod started the week in Palm Beach with Penny and Alastair enjoying a golfing day at the golf course.

Thoughts on the new Faces Live at The BBC Box Set

Everyone seemed pleased with the new Faces Box Set through it’s first week of release…

Yesterday the dream of every Faces fan happened. A comprehensive record over 8 cds and 1 blue ray disc of every BBC live performance from the band was finally released.
The toil by many over four years, at last, hit the tarmac.
A magnificent, restored, remastered and much loved catalogue of music by ‘Our Band’.
I feel privileged, humbled and honoured to have been part of the team that made this dream possible.
SMILER – Rod Stewart Fanclub ‘s involvement was a dream for us. To be endorsed by the remaining members of the band as contributors to such an awesome project …no words can describe.
To be credited on four occasions is overwhelming…a labour of absolute love.

Cactus Music held Houston’s Faces party and said ‘Last night we had a screening party of the Blu-ray disc and it looked and sounded great! The Blu-ray is of the newly restored footage of the faces April 1972 appearance on Sounds for saturday. The concert finds the “Borstal Boys” in peak form, radiating their swaggering joyous spiritof rock ‘n’ roll that continues to inspire generations’

Was absolutely thrilled to be asked to write some sleeve notes for this sumptuous 8-CD/1-Blu-ray box set which captures the legendary Faces at The BBC – Complete BBC Concert & Session Recordings 1970-1973 and collects together all of the band concerts and surviving studio sessions for Auntie Beeb in one giant package.
Plus I got to interview esteemed Radio 1 producer Jeff Griffin (who gave me my very first job on radio) who shares his memories of recording and working with the boys on the radio show In Concert.
