WH Smiths

Great to see Swing Fever is one of the selected new and calassic releases chosen to go on the shelves at WH Smiths as they stock vinyl in 80 locations across the UK for the first time in 30 years

The high streat giants are aiming to take advantage of vinyl’s growing popularity among a new generation of music enthusiasts.

Vinyl sales have surged recently as the format regains its appeal, bolstered by new releases from artists like Taylor Swift, who has announced that her 11th studio album, ā€˜The Tortured Poets Department’, will be available on vinyl.

Copped Hall Estate

Footballer Andy Carroll has put his Grade II-listed mansion with 25 acres of land and Panoramic views of Epping Forest and a boating lake, up for sale

So what I hear you say..Well Copped Hall Estate was sold to Andy by Rod who said that he had expected to live in the Jacobean-style property for the rest of his life when he put it on the market for Ā£7.5 million in 2016 to move closer to his children’s school.

But despite the home’s ornate pargetting, opulent oak panelling and impressive facilities — a tennis court, heated swimming pool and full-size football pitch — the Essex property sat on the market for three years when Rod tried to sell.

Infact Rod dropped more than £3 million off the original asking price, and the former Liverpool striker Andy Caroll and then-fiancé Billi Mucklow bought it for £4.1 million in 2019.

The home provided Rod’s family with a lavish place of residence a stone’s throw from the M25 for over 30 years, and Carroll and reality TV star Mucklow, who have just listed the property for sale for more than double the price they bought it for.

Rod had his famous full size football pitch built in the grounds and once said ā€œThe drive from the gate to the house takes my breath away,ā€ and it’s no surprise why. The serene boating lake and jetty, elegant willow trees and magnificent gardens make quite the first impression.

Inside, bay windows allow light to flood into the handful of reception rooms, each of which have their own personality. The drawing room features a ceiling with breathtaking plasterwork and a stone fireplace, while the family room boasts stained glass windows.

Bespoke fittings add an opulent touch to the chandelier-fitted kitchen and the bathroom of the master suite, which is made complete with a dressing room lined with fitted wardrobes and a marble-topped island. Five more bedrooms, all featuring en-suites, look over the property’s meticulously landscaped grounds and terraces.

Carroll who now plays for French team Bordeaux and his wife who share two children, married in 2022 but announced their divorce in September this year.

And Finally..

Photo Sir Rod Stewart

Rod took to social media this week to post a photo of his five sports cars saying ‘I am extremely fortunate and eternally grateful to be the owner of these five beautiful hybrid sports cars, which, in my opinion, are true ā€˜works of art.’ Unfortunately, because of the potholes on our roads, I may have to find new owners for them. I’ve been driving these iconic Italian cars since the seventies, and I absolutely love and adore them. This post is for my fans—thank you, as you are the sole reason I own them. 🤩 And to all the trolls… don’t bother; I never read the comments’.

Sir Rod

I think if I had a fleet like that I would sell the house and move to somewhere with no potholes..I hear Andy Carroll is looking for a new gaff!

See you next week..
