Sean hit by truck
Rod’s son Sean has revealed he’s ‘in a lot of pain’ after being hit by a truck in a horror crash. He has said he was rushed to hospital and needed a neck brace after the terrifying collision which occurred at a red light.

Sean also shared a photo from hospital in a gown and face mask as he wrote: “I got hit by a truck at a red light. Hard out here on these streets.”

He has since issued a health update to his followers as he posted on social media for the first time since being in hospital.
In a snap posted on Sean’s Instagram Story, he posed alongside his dog in bed and wrote: “Still in a lot of pain, got my best friend by my side #doggydoctor.”
It has also been reported Sean will make a full recovery.
Ukrain Praise
After last weeks news that Rod was renting a Berkshire house for a family of seven, and paying the bills. Rock legends Jimmy Page and Roger Taylor have praised Rod Stewart for helping Ukrainians settle here.

Led Zeppelinโs Jimmy, said: โThat really is a generous gesture. The situation in Ukraine is heart-breaking.โ and Queenโs Roger, added: โDamn good for him! I love Rod.โ
The pair spoke at the London launch of photo book Pattie Boyd: My Life in Pictures.
Rod will continue to address the war on stage when he kicks off his UK tour next month, And the Ipswich company that was supported by Rod in their work to send over 380 tons of aid to Ukraine has been nominated for a national award.
Anchor Freight, from Ipswich, is in the running for the 2022 ‘Extra Mile Award’ at the British International Freight Association awards as recognition for their involvement with humanitarian aid for Ukraine.
She Makes Me Happy
Rod and Penny enjoyed dinner out at The Ritz last Friday and Penny posted this cheeky snap of her and Rod sharing a romantic minute behind the curtain.

No more big tours
Old news but it’s making the news again this week after Rod told The Daily Record in an interview this week that he wouldn’t be doing any big tours saying โNext year will be the end of my rock โnโ roll touring. I want to do something different. It feels like an end of an era. All things must come to an end.
โIโm not retiring and I still love singing, I just want to do something new. I might do a few folk clubs playing guitar. Just be different.โ

He continued โIโve made a brilliant swing album with Jools Holland and love the success of the American Songbook series Iโve done. Iโm yearning to do more of that kind of music.
โThese last shows will be quite the party and after that I wonโt be performing songs like Maggie May or Hot Legs. I donโt want to be singing Hot Legs when Iโm 80.โ

Adventures in Modern Recording: From ABC to ZTT
As a renowned recording-studio maven, Trevor Horn has been dubbed ‘the man who invented the ’80s’.

His production work since the glory days of ZTT represents a veritable ‘who’s who’ of intelligent modern pop, including the likes of Rod, ABC, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Paul McCartney, Pet Shop Boys, Seal, Simple Minds, Grace Jones and Yes – among many others.
This book is Trevor’s story in his own words, as told through the prism of twenty-three of his most important songs – from the ones that inspired him to the ones that defined him.
This play-by-play memoir transports readers into the heart of the studio to witness the making of some of music’s most memorable moments, from the Buggles’ ground-breaking ‘Video Killed the Radio Star’ to Band Aid’s perennial ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’, via hits such as ‘Relax’, ‘Poison Arrow’, ‘Owner of a Lonely Heart’ and ‘Crazy’.
Offering unrivalled access to the dark arts of the producer’s world and the even darker arts of the music business itself, prepare for some adventures in modern recording.
Out Now
This Weeks Rod Art
This week we feature a great graphite pencil drawing of Rod from the mid 80’s by Paula Howe from Paula Howe Arts & Crafts who is originally from Epsom Surrey but now live in Derbyshire.
Paula told SMILER this week ‘I started drawing in lockdown after being taught by my husband Gerard. As I love Rod I thought it was an ideal opportunity to have a go at drawing him. I canโt believe the amount of likes itโs had Iโve been overwhelmed. Iโm still very much a learner’.
