The week ended with another hot night in Marbella at the Starlite Catalana Occidente, SMILER photographer Marc Baulisch – Steines was on hand to get some great shots of the night as was Daniel Beirne

Rod was joined on stage for a duet of Forever Young by his daughter Ruby

And he also introduced the Spanish crowd to the latest members to the Stewart clan .

Rod The Mod Update

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Rod’s first official compilation album Sing It Again Rod Tim Jeffs has agreed to do another of his amazing sculptures for SMILER members.

The album is notable for its Peter Corriston-designed die-cut album sleeve shaped like an old fashioned drinking glass [Very apt at the moment!] and this will be acknowledged in the figure of Rod in all his Faces splendour from 1973.

Here is Tim’s first sketch and like last time he will photograph each stage of the project to keep everyone involved in the process

We have a couple of places left on this limited edition project if you want a Rod statue, they will be £95 plus postage.

This project will not be started for three weeks as Tim has other commitments and when he does start, as each one is hand painted the most that can be done is five per week after they come out of the mould..But it will be worth the wait, like our last one was!

The bottles of Wolfie’s Blended Whisky started arriving this week and it was nice to see a few SMILER members were anong the lucky fans who got signed bottles
