You’re In My Art..Rod Art valentine’s special
A new digital painting of Rod has been created by London musician artist Stella Tooth.

The artwork forms part of ‘Art & Sol’ an artistic collaboration with Getty rock photographer Solomon N’jie. Working on her iPad pro with Apple pencil, using Procreate, Stella has spent the last few months transforming four of Sol’s classic 80s stadium rock images into affordable artworks.
Each original digital painting of Rod, Freddie Mercury, Madonna and Sting are 12″x12″ – album cover size. Framed in black, the images are designed to be bought separately or build into a rock collection on the walls of music lovers everywhere.
All can be purchased online on https://stellatooth.co.uk (£199 each). Some, including the painting of Rod, can also be purchased from the walls of legendary music venue the Half Moon Putney, where Stella is resident artist.

Stella told SMILER this week, “Although born and raised in London, Rod Stewart is of Scottish and English ancestry. The saltire in the background of my digital painting symbolises his pride in his Scottish roots. As he supports Celtic, which he mentions in ‘You’re in my heart’, and, on the English side, follows Manchester United, I have reflected Celtic’s green and white in the stage lights and the red of Manchester United in his jacket. Red, of course, also symbolises love, which features in many of Rod Stewart’s songs.”

Rock photographer Solomon N’Jie says: “Rod Stewart is a song writer who produced unique observations of everyday life with profound lyrics, self-effacing humour and a unique singing voice that is instantly recognisable. His love of football and support for Celtic, flamboyant stage presence and a good-time rocker heritage are all captured in this picture.”
