Pandemic Art

As you know we love to show you the very best Rod art here on SMILER and this week we have not one but two fabulous creations featuring Rod the first is by California based Ron Bearce who told SMILER this week..
“I’ve been a big Rod Stewart fan since I was a kid and have always loved his look.
Rod’s early album of “Every Picture Tells a Story“ is the perfect title for my painting here. I wanted to paint the story of his career of uplifting music and beautiful art.
It was fun to pick a challenge of him pointing at me encouraging me to do a great job representing him. This was one of my first large paintings, as well! I learned to paint on my own during the pandemic, hoping I could also uplift people during our common challenging times. Positive artists and activists like Rod Stewart are the subjects which I have been painting portraits of.“

Blondes Cover

The second is a fantastic drawing of Rod from the Blondes Have More fun cover by Julie Lyon from Boston, MA who told SMILER this week
“The drawing was done for a woman I know who is a huge fan of Rod Stewart, has seen him in concert many times. She wanted this image drawn of him from the Blondes Have More Fun record, which i used as a reference. It’s done in colored pencil, 12” x 12”.”
