US New Year TV special

For the 31st consecutive year, Dick Clark will lead America into the New Year when he hosts three specials, beginning at 10:00 p.m., ET, on Tuesday, December 31.

Dick Clark’s Primetime New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2003 kicks off with Clark reporting “live” on the festivities in Times Square, New York. Joining him will be correspondents Steve Doocy (Fox & Friends) and Mario Lopez (The Other Half), who will report on other happenings around New York City. Clark will also introduce highlight performances from some of this past year’s most successful tours, including Alabama, Coldplay, LL Cool J and The Who.

During Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2003, Part 1, Clark will report on the final minutes of the year 2002 and lead his traditional Times Square countdown to midnight. In addition he will be joined by Spy TV star Ali Landry, who will preside over segments of the show from Hollywood and introduce top recording artists B2K, Missy Elliott, Nelly, Nivea, O-Town, Rod Stewart, Third Eye Blind and Uncle Kracker. Doocy and Lopez will continue to check out other sights in the Big Apple.

Wrapping the night’s activities will be Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2003, Part 2. Landry will bring back B2K, Missy Elliott, Nelly, O-Town, Rod Stewart, Third Eye Blind and Uncle Kracker for encores. While all this is going on, Clark will close the curtain on the activities in Times Square.

This year’s scheduled performances include: B2K performing their current R&B/Hip-Hop hit “Bump, Bump, Bump, as well as a medley of songs featuring “One Kiss”and “That Girl” from their current album; Missy Elliott offers her past R&B chart-topper “Get Your Freak On,” along with her current #1 crossover smash hit “Work It”; Nelly performs his #1 song of earlier this year, “Hot In Herre,” as well as his current Top 20 hit “Air Force Ones” and “Country Grammar,” his #1 hit of 2000; Nivea sings her current Top 10 crossover hit “Don’t Mess With My Man”; O-Town perform their current chart hit “These Are The Days,” and “Craving,” a cut from their new album; Rod Stewart sings his current single “These Foolish Things” and “The Way You Look Tonight” and “You Go To my Head,” songs from his latest album; Third Eye Blind offer two tracks from their new album, “Blinded” and “Faster,” as well as their past Top 10 hit “Jumper”; and Uncle Kracker performs his current chart hit “In A Little While,” “Follow Me,” his chart-topping hit from the year 2000,and his version of the classic “Drift Away,” during which he will be joined by the original hitmaker, Dobie Gray.
