Last night we saw Paul Metcalfe in his Some Guys Have all the Luck show at The
Princess Theatre, Torquay and weirdly for such a huge Rod fan this was actually the first time l’ve seen this show. Totally blown away, at times it became so emotional capturing Some of Rod’s backstory which l know like the back of my hand, particularly his early days, l welled up.

Loved the interaction between Paul and his band members who were outstanding, particularly the saxophonist (who really did have that ‘wow’ factor) which of course is just how Rod himself does it on stage, the attention to detail was spot on. As one who’s seen Rod live ‘a few times’ l think l’m in a good position to judge!! I was also blessed to be in particularly lovely company too in a gorgeous theatre environment right down close to the stage. Naturally our evening ended with the obligatory flask of coffee in the car before heading back to Plymouth! Fantastic night.

I’ve seen Paul a few times , he’s really good and such a nice guy. We always have a good sing song and come out of concert buzzing . If I can’t have Rod 😀 Paul has to do.🤣🤣
Glad you enjoyed him Elle.
